If you haven’t heard of Coachella by now you might just be living under a rock. The Coachella Valley Music and Art Festival is a two weekend music festival held in Indio, California in the Colorado Desert. The festivals origins trace back to 1993 when one of my all time favorite groups, Pearl Jam, held a concert here in order to boycott ticketmaster. The first official festival was held in 1999 and then consecutively starting in 2001 with a single day event. I was wondering why maybe I hadn’t heard about it until a couple years ago. The event didn’t turn into a 2 consecutive weekend thing until 2012. I honestly think that it’s the celebrities and fashion that make this event one of the most popular in the country. The now recognizable ferris wheel and the lines of tippees make all fashionistas, and music lovers alike, want to attend this who’s who event.
If you want to attend this star studded, California dreaming music festival get tickets early. They sell out quick. And why wouldn’t they. With the likes of Drake, Amy Winehouse, Snoop Dog, Jay-Z, Foo Fighters, just to name of few that have performed on one of their stages. Also on the must have agenda, major style. Pack your cutoff shorts, booties and flash tats because at this event if you’re not styling you’re not profiling. Ha! All the girls at Pursona are so envious and watching Coachella’s every move. Talk about major fashion inspiration. Coachella is the all end be all of “cool”. Check out some of the looks sported at this year’s Coachella.
I don’t know about you, but these pics make me want to lose weight and start all over with a new wardrobe! Ha! Oh to be that young again. Hopefully I’ll be able to attend this festival in the near future. Until then I’ll continue to drool over all the pics and live vicariously thru instagram while listening to Young, Wild and Free.
