It’s been no secret that pregnancy definitely took some adjusting for me. The do this and don’t do that aspect of it all gave me whiplash. Even when you call for a simple massage appointment one place says “Of course we can do 80 mins” and the other says “Oh no ma’am. We can only do 50 mins of light pressure. We don’t want to mess with those trigger points”. Ummm what? People get on the same page universally please.
So when it started that I could no longer wear my regular clothes, because everything now was too tight, panic set in. I know that I’m pregnant and my body is growing, and I’ve accepted this, but part of my being is fashion and style.
The other day John and I were meeting friends for dinner and I could not make anything work. Everything I put on was either too tight or not flattering. It was like my closet didn’t belong to me. I went into John’s closet all teary eyed and said “It’s starting”. He replied, “You don’t feel stylish”. He knew and he was right. So what’s a girl to do? In order to stay “stylish” yet comfy I had to make a plan, which obviously involved shoes. Ha! Oh and did mention my feet have started to grow? That’s right. The unthinkable is happening. Haley and I had to pull over on the way to market so she could take off my shoes and after dinner Saturday night John had to pry my shoes off in the car. So if tight clothes weren’t enough now I’m limited on what shoes I can wear and even that changes every day. Ugh! So here’s some of my comfy “chic” looks. I hope this helps some growing mommas out there in their daily outfit struggles. We already feel so yuck, let’s not let our love for fashion be one of them.
After 22 weeks my face is starting to blow up too! GEEZ!
These shoes are so comfy I want to be in them all the time.
My go to favorite shoes. Even these are getting difficult to pull on. Aye ye ye!
Surprisingly my all time favorite jeans still button. Winner winner chicken dinner!
So happy this dress has plenty of room to grow!
