Louis Vuitton

Well my husband will be happy.  I watched both the Fall 2014 and Resort 2015 Louis Vuitton runway shows and I’ve got to tell you, UNIMPRESSED.  There was not one thing I couldn’t live without.  Sure the Fall 2014 collection had one clutch I wouldn’t mind adding to my collection and the Resort 2015 had maybe two, but they weren’t enough to make me dream about them.  There was not one single shoe that made my heart go pitter patter.  Not ONE.  Ouch.

People you have to understand, Louis Vuitton is my kryptonite.  It’s the brand that when fashion week starts, I loose sleep waiting for the collection to unveil.  Let me be clear, I don’t own very much of it.  I do have several handbags and have even had the honor of being invited to design my own.  However, I do not have a closet full of ready to wear.  What do you think I’m made of, money?  It wasn’t until this year that I bought my first article of clothing and that was a tough pill to swallow or shall I say bill to swallow.  Now handbags, different story.  I LOVE them. Craddle them.  Drool on them.  They are my thing.

So what has happened to my beloved brand that has me turning my nose at it?  Marc Jacobs left.  That’s right.  He no longer designs for them.  He is the reason I started to like Louis Vuitton.  He is the reason I fell in love with the runway shows.  Did you guys see his creations?  One fall season he had a train, that’s right, a train come into the building carrying the models and they piled out onto the floor to show us his creations.

A spring collection later he had 2 HUGE escalators move the models up and down the runway.  And who can forget the AMAZING carousel that spun around while the models sat on the horses and carriages?  My heart and soul come alive just talking about it.

The current runway was just, well, boring after that.  There were no grand theatrics, no train, no stairs, no NOTHING.  Just models weaving in and out of the crowd to some interesting song.  Even the models looked unhappy to be there.  Even more so than normal.  I definitely feel they were having such a bad time it was hard for them not to focus on the all the food they were going to consume as soon as this show was over.

So what will happen to my love?  I don’t know.  Based on the show, I don’t want any of it.  Even the clothes were bad.  Like I said before, I don’t buy the ready to wear, but I like to drool and there was no drooling.  Sure my mouth was open but that was because I was shocked at how bad it was.   I know that what you see on the runway you have to take with a grain of salt because you don’t wear it the way they present it, however, if it doesn’t look good on the model, it certainly isn’t going to look good on anyone.  This is when it’s supposed to look it’s best.  Now I know what you’re thinking honey.  I do reserve the right to change my opinion if I see a clutch or handbag that wasn’t properly exposed on the runway. Ha!  Moral of the story: BRING BACK MARC JACOBS!
