Ten years ago today I married my dream man. Well let’s just say he didn’t start off being my dream man. After college I worked at an orthopedic clinic. Like many grads, I was unsure what I wanted to do with my life. I was still “searching”. So while I was “searching” my parents said I had to get a job. (Dammit) So I applied and got a job with the Hughston Clinic. Armed with a microbiology degree, I was somewhat excited about learning more about potentially becoming a doctor. Never did I think I would marry one. So after years of working for the president of the clinic and loving my job and life, I had a curve ball thrown my way. Apparently one of the docs (John), wanted to go out with me and he had asked the P.A. who worked with us to ask me out! The P.A.! Not him. He was getting someone ELSE to ask me out. I was like H E double hockey sticks NO. The P.A. was like why? You know how girls are, they talk. So I had heard he was egotistical and rude. Did I think he was cute? Duh. But that didn’t matter. Anyways, the P.A. kept pushing and I finally said, what are getting out of this? He said I get to drive his Porshe for the weekend. Ha! So I took one for the team and I’ve never been happier.
When I say I’m the luckiest girl in the world, I mean it. John is the sweetest guy and makes me feel loved EVERY SINGLE DAY. Even on my “fat” days he tells me how gorgeous I am. There’s nothing like coming home to find that one person you can be your complete self with. When I’m having a bad day, I just want to see him. I just want one of his “million dollar hugs”. That’s what we call them. I enjoy being married and I enjoy coming home. After all these years, I can say that I still love my husband. Sure we have our downs, but all marriages do. I am lucky that he wants to work on it just as much as I do. I am lucky he provides, loves, supports and cares. I am lucky. Happy Anniversary baby! Here’s to the next 10 plus years. Remember you promised to live til you’re 100! I love you!
We are currently traveling for our anniversary and can’t wait to share our trip when we get back. In the meantime, enjoy our throw back pics! (Obviously before pinterest existed. Ha!)
